Real
Life Family
Church on the Rock
Pastor Kevin Overbeck
|

Pastor Kevin Overbeck reports, "Real Life Family
Church on the Rock is excited to be a part of what God is
doing in Conroe, Texas.
We are actively seeking God to be able to do our part in increasing His
Kingdom in Conroe.
Many days have been spent by the leadership and the body fasting and
praying, seeking God to move on behalf of those who are not yet Christ
followers.
Even though we have seen tremendous church growth that has not been our
focus. Upon the start of Real Life Family Church in January, and the
departure of Kevin and Vida Jones to start Turning Point in Cleburne,
God spoke to me clear as day.
He said, 'Do not worry about growing the church. Worry about increasing
the Kingdom and I will grow the church.'
Did that ever take the pressure off of me! As a new senior pastor, I
did not have to worry about church growth. Since that day, God has been
true to His word.
We have had the privilege of seeing many people saved, healed,
delivered and others who had not been going to church come in and join
our family. God has truly brought in some amazing people to partner
with our team, increasing our ability to reach others. What really
excites me is the majority of our church growth comes from people who
have either never been in a church or haven't been a part of church
since their childhood.
We really have two major things that we focus on which are: love God
and love people. If we continue to do this, we will see His Kingdom
grow, and as a result God will bless the church.
There are three key avenues that God has shown me in loving people.
First is to not lose track of who we are doing ministry for. Jesus
spent most of His ministry with the people who were in need. So we have
invested countless hours seeking ways and implementing plans to meet
the needs of people around us.
The second thing is to take care of those God has already given us. Our
team makes sure that everyone who calls Real Life Family Church their
home is touched not only through Sunday morning fellowship, but through
weekly telephone calls, emails, notes or meeting with them one-on-one
monthly.
Last but certainly in no way least, we have focused on our Youth and
Children's Ministries. We have an excellent team of people who are
passionate about seeing the next generation serve God, willing to
invest their lives to make a difference.
God is good and continues to show Himself faithful. We are truly
humbled and thankful that He has chosen us to partner with to increase
His Kingdom." |

YOUTH
CAMP
Indonesian Style!
|
Johanis Ciandy is a great young
man doing missions work among the young people of his home country -
Indonesia. In
July, Pastor
Caz Francis and Josh Trevino travelled the long journey to Merauke on
the island of Papua to minister alongside Johanis in their youth camp
2009. Johanis recently sent in a report on the success of the camp.
He reported that his team prayed hard for a month before Pastor Caz and
Josh arrived. By faith, much prayer, and the grace of God, the team
overcame a number of obstacles leading up to the camp.
One
obstacle was
literally looming on the horizon, because Merauke had been cloudy every
day leading up to the camp, and it seemed like they were going to
experience heavy rains during the camp.
Another obstacle they faced was fund raising. A financial shortfall was
overhead right up until two days before the camp began. But, by faith
and the grace of the Lord they overcame!
The
camp had
beautiful and clear days throughout the event and all the financial
needs were met and paid off.
Pastor Cazzy and Josh also taught in special sessions for leaders.
Johanis and a number of leaders accepted the challenge to read one
Proverb a day that they could share with their youth. Two days later a
youth leader sent a text to Johanis that had his Proverb of the
day! Johanis reported his growing excitement at seeing the
youth leaders respond to the plan and implement it.
Josh
shared some principles in the young men's session. Johanis reported on
one principle that Josh taught - "No matter how bad we mess up, if we
will repent, God will always bring us from wherever we are directly to
His perfect will." Johanis said, "What a powerful principle and
encouragement. The boys are blessed!" The lives of many young people
were changed forever by the Lord at the camp.
Johanis went on to say, "After all
the hard work
and by the Power and the will of God we have won 110 souls for Christ!
Praise God! Thanks you all for your prayers! Pastor Caz and Josh were
awesome! I'm so thankful that they've come to visit me and even doing
the ministry together! What a great time together!! I'll never forget
that!" |

70 Relocated Families Receive New Housing
Mike
and Jude Kelly - ILOILO, Philippines
|
Mike
and Jude Kelly emailed this week to share the good news that
they had a great week last week! They met with five very high
Government officials concerning the seventy one relocated families from
typhoon Frank (now at the San Isidro Relocation Site) they work with.
The
officials assured them that the families will receive new houses. They
can see the new houses being built a few hundreds yards from where
their temporary houses are now.
Below is a picture of Jude and Mary. Jude has just told her the good
news about the housing. Please
remember to pray for the Kellys, as the rains and flooding have been
heavy in recent days. Their house has been flooding and they have been
without power in recent days. Click below to go to Mike and Jude
Kelly's Web site.
