Truth for Today
Pastor Ron Hammonds and Treasure Francis Discuss the Generation Change
In this episode of Truth for Today Pastor Ron Hammonds sheds light on crucial concepts involved with the inevitable generational transitions facing the church.

Each leader must consider the responsibility of empowering the next generation to take The Gospel into their world and to make disciples, giving their sons and daughters in the faith a chance to receive the mantle that is passed on from generation to generation.

Project 237 Update
Going Around the World

Recently an additional 5 countries on the African continent have been 'reached' by Project 237, an outreach of Golden Triangle Church on the Rock in Beaumont, TX.

Reaching Ghana and Nigeria was Prince Uche, a pastor in Ghana, and reaching Namibia, Mozambique, and Madagascar was Derek Province, a missionary
supported by Church on the Rock in Vidor, TX., who works with Overland Missions in Africa.

Here is a link to a short video of Pastor Uche and his fellow workers in Ghana and Nigeria accomplishing the vision of Project 237.

Our vision is to take the Gospel to every geo-political entity and read a declaration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When the project began several years ago, we identified 237 nations and other areas for the project , hence the name Project 237. The vision of Project 237 is to go into the capital of every nation and read and post a gospel decree - a basic declaration of the gospel message, accompanied by prayer for the peoples of that nation, for salvation and successful church planting efforts in each people group in the nation.

Creative WAYS to HELP

  • Be a "Go-er" - Plan your vacation around visiting a country not yet reached by Project 237
  • Be a "Pay-er" -Financially support others to go
  • Be a "Stay-er" - Though you may not GO to another country, even by STAYing at home you can help us make connections with your friends or relatives in other countries who can help us accomplish the goals of Project 237.
  • Be a "Pray-er" - Pray that God would open the doors and resources necessary for the completion of Project 237 and for the advance of the gospel worldwide in every people group.

December 9 - Haiti Update - Jay Threadgill
Fishers of Men / Jay Threadgill / Haiti Relief

Dear Beloved,

Yesterday the nation of Haiti was filled with rioting and violence in protest to election results and accusations of voter fraud. We are all fine along with our Morning Star Campus and our house. As long as you stayed in and stayed low most of the unrest was confined to the city streets. Many buildings were destroyed (mostly political headquarters). The UN pelted crowds with tear gas cannons trying to disperse the crowds. There were large manifestations close to our house. Tear gas cannons dispersed them several times. It is a bit nerve racking when they shoot those things. At one point they were banging on our walls because of political flyers that had been placed on the wall. Our guard had to explain to the crowd we had nothing to do with that and they seemed to be ok with it and left.

We have called off school for a second day for the safety of the students and our staff. Currently it is raining...this is a miracle from God because we are in dry season. The rain will cause most of the rioters to leave the streets. We're asking all of our intercessors to keep Haiti and FOMM in your prayers.

ON A DIFFERENT NOTE:

I was contacted by Feeding the Nations yesterday. This is the ministry that has provided so much of the relief food we dispersed along with food for our Haiti Kids feeding program - feeding over 2,000 kids a day. It seems they sent a container of food for another ministry that has really messed up the paper work and has been taxed excessively by the Haitian government. I explained to them that this would only happen if the ministry did not follow laws and had flaws in their papers. At any rate, they asked our help to get this container out of this stalemate. They have a 11k bill on the container. They asked if we can take half the bill for half the food. The food is well worth much more than the 5K and I would like to help them for a couple of reasons. First....we could use the food. 2nd, because they have been such a blessing to us, I feel we need to be a blessing back and get them out of this mess.

Unfortunately We don't have the 5K. FOMM, like so many other ministries has had to cut back in the midst of the economic recession. Soooo, I need to ask you our partners if you would consider helping. I need 50 partners to send $100 or I need 10 churches to send $500. Can you please pray about this and let me know if you can help? It will give us a great start for the feeding program in January and at the same time we can be a blessing to Feeding the Nations.

Linda and I along with the staff of Fishers of Men Ministries want you to know that we love you, and are praying for you daily. We appreciate all you have done, standing with us as we endeavor to touch this nation with the Gospel of His Kingdom and His love.

Blessings to all of you,

Pastors Jay & Linda Threadgill
