SARA Church on the Rock hosted their
first-ever Vacation Bible School. Over one hundred children came for
the three days of Bible teaching and fun! Felicia Bent helped lead one
of the sessions through a translator. So successful and popular was the
VBS that a number of teachers at area schools are now planning and
asking for their students to be dismissed from their regular classes so
they may attend next year!
In
addition to the graduation, Pastor Bent taught in the KE Resources'
Pastors and Leaders Conference. Ongoing threats to Christians and
increasing persecution meant that a number of them could not attend the
conference, but there was still a good representation of leaders.
SARA
Children's Home - now home to 28 orphans, was also visited as well as
the construction site for the new orphanage. The orphanage operations
and a number of the orphans are supported by members of Golden Triangle
Church on the Rock.
Pastor Rokka was honored recently by
his
fellow 250 Nepali graduates of the Haggai Institute (a Christian
leadership training organization active in 178 countries) by being
elected to serve as the Vice President of the Alumni organization of
Nepal. One of his duties will include nominating four leaders from
Nepal to attend the Institute in the next year. Pease continue to pray
